Mandatory Training Courses

SUSS’s courses are delivered either in the blended or in the face-to-face or online mode. To be deployed to teach and develop courses offered at SUSS, you’ll need to complete the mandatory courses shown below. These modules provide contextual knowledge and skills you require to teach effectively in the SUSS teaching and learning environment. The courses are:

AD100 - Teaching and Learning at UniSIM

This course seeks to provide you with a better understanding of how the different pieces that form the SUSS experience fit together. Organised around key phases of a SUSS academic term, you learn about the regular rhythm of a typical 5-credit unit, six-week course and how you may best keep pace.

AD108 - Blended Learning at UniSIM

This course introduces the blended learning approach at SUSS. In this course, we introduce you to principles and practices of blended learning. We cover the benefits and challenges of creating blended learning, along with ideas of how to integrate online educational technologies purposefully.

AD109 - Learning Design for Course Developers

This online training module provides essential knowledge for the SUSS Course Developer to commence work on designing and developing an engaging course. It provides relevant theoretical principles and supporting practices and processes in relation to writing content, learning activities and assessments that align to learning outcomes.

All Associates are expected to complete the AD 100 and AD 108 courses. Associates involved in the development of courses are expected to complete And 109. Visiting lecturers and practicum supervisors are expected to complete AD 100.

What Associates Say About Our Training

The information provided is comprehensive and highly practical. Well done! This is the most comprehensive training I\'ve ever had in the last four years teaching at SUSS. Much appreciated!

AD108 is a consolidation of the older versions of courses for associate faculty. I applaud the team for having designed such an improved comprehensive and user-friendly training module. Thank you so much.

Thank you for this module!
