1. What is SUSS Mobile?
SUSS Mobile is an official mobile application developed by SUSS to allow potential students, current students, staff and the public to access essential information such as news and events, floorplans, courses, even directory and library services, all on the go directly from their mobile devices.
2. Why can't I access my course timetable, course materials, course lectures etc. in SUSS Mobile?
SUSS Mobile is launched as the first stage of SUSS overall mobile strategy plan, with the aim to provide essential information about SUSS to the public and SUSS community. It is in our plan to roll out a series of secured-access Student App which include other useful features that are relevant to our current students. We will notify the students when the Student App is available.
3. Do I need to pay to download SUSS Mobile?
SUSS Mobile is made available at no cost to the users. The app can be downloaded from App Store and Google Play
4. What is the operating system used for SUSS Mobile?
SUSS Mobile works on iOS version 5.1 and above, and Android version 2.2 and above.
5. Are there differences between the iOS and the Android versions?
Besides some minor user interface differences, they have essentially the same key features. In the current Android version, 360 view is not available yet as we are working on a better user experience.
6. I can't seem to find a programme or a course on this app even though I know it can be found on the website.
We aim to offer up-to-date information on courses and programmes. However, please refer to the website for full details on the programmes and courses offered at SUSS.
7. Can I use the Library One Search function outside of SUSS campus?
We are currently working on the authentication protocols to allow SUSS students to access the library module off campus. We will be posting updates when they are available.
8. Is UniSIM Mobile optimised for tablets?
It is an universal application for iOS. iPad and iPhone are having a different design but same content. Android app has the same interface across both phone and tablet devices.
9. Will there be a SUSS mobile version for Blackberry or Windows 8?
For the moment we are focusing on iOS and Android devices. It is not in our immediate plans to support other devices.
10. How can I make feature requests or report a bug?
There is a feedback form on the SUSS application itself. Look for it under "info". Also, you can follow us on twitter under #suss_mobile

1. What is eTextbook?
eTextbooks are electronic versions of the textbooks for students and instructors. As a downloadable resource, it enables students to learn anytime, anywhere even when there is no network connectivity. It allows access from multiple devices (i.e. desktop, laptop, tablet and smartphone) and across various operating systems (i.e. iOS, Android, Windows & Mac).
2. How can I retrieve my eTextbook?
You can access to your eTextbook via the L group of your course. On the left menu, tap on “iBookstore”. For student from COR161 and BUS365, you can access to your eTextbook via the L group of your course. On the left menu, tap on “Modules“ -> “MH Campus” -> “McGraw-Hill Campus”.
3. Why do I need to register for a VitalSource account?
You will need a VitalSource account if you want to access your eTextbook across multiple platforms. VitalSource account allows for synchronisation of your text highlights and notes taking across Windows, Macintosh, iOS and Android.

5. Where can I retrieve the technical resources for eTextbook?

Technical resources such as pdf guides and frequently asked questions are available in Blackboard Mobile Learn.

Login to Blackboard Mobile Learn. Tap on Mobile Devices Self-Help on the left menu (courses). Alternatively, technical resources are available in the eTextbook folder under the L group of the course. Tap on Learning Resources -> eTextbook.

6. Why am I given only eTextbook?
SUSS is working toward making learning more flexible. eTextbook is only one of the many initiatives. In addition, eTextbook is lighter and more portable than physical textbook.
7. Do I need to pay for the eTextbook?
No.
8. How long can I keep the eTextbook?
If you are using Vital Source viewer, you can keep the eTextbook for a year and half. If you are using Smart Book viewer, you can keep the eTextbook for a year.
9. How do I get the print copy of textbook?
You can order online and the textbook will be delivered to you, just like iStudyGuide.

1. What is iStudyGuide?
The iStudyGuide is essentially an electronic publication (.epub), with multimedia features and links to additional resources that enhance student learning. It aggregates all learning materials associated with the course – e.g., chunked lesson recordings, formative assessments, lecture slides – in one place.
2. Where do I retrieve my iStudyGuide?
You can access to your iStudyGuide via the L group of your course. On the left menu, tap on "StudyGuide and Textbook".
3. Where can I download iStudyGuide readers?

iStudyGuide can be viewed on desktops and mobile devices with screen size of 5" or more.

Please ensure that you have the selected reader for the device(s) you are using.

1. What is SUSS Backpack?
SUSS Backpack is an official mobile application developed by SUSS to allow current students, associates and staff to access essential information such as system status, iStudyGuide, classroom lesson recordings on-the-go directly from their mobile devices.
2. Do I need to pay to download SUSS Backpack?
SUSS Backpack is made available at no cost to the users. The app can be downloaded from App Store and Google Play.
3. What is the operating system used for SUSS Backpack?
SUSS Backpack works on iOS version 6.1 and above, and Android version 4.0 and above.
4. Why I am not able to login to the app.
You are required to login using your SUSS ID and password. SUSS Backpack requires push notification service to be activated. iOS users can go to Settings -> Notification Center -> Backpack to turn on the service. Please note that new student will only be able to login 1 week prior the semester starts. Student did not enrol to any courses for the current semester will not able to login. Please contact mLearning@suss.edu.sg if you have any difficulty logging in to the app after turning on the notification service.
5. Can I turn off the push notification (PN) if I do not want to receive any message from this app?
User have to turn on PN service in order to login to the app. After successful login, user can turn the PN service off. However, student are strongly encouraged to leave the notification activated to receive important announcement or message broadcast from SUSS.
6. I can't seem to find my courses on this app even though they can be found in Blackboard.
Access to My Courses will be available 1 week before the start of every semester.User need to logout and login again to see the new changes. Please contact mLearning@suss.edu.sg with your email, login ID and missing courses if you are not able to access your courses after the stipulated timeline.
7. Are there differences between the iOS and the Android versions?
Besides some minor user interface differences, they have essentially the same key features.
8. Is SUSS Backpack optimised for tablets?
SUSS Backpack is an universal application for iOS and Android (Support for both mobile and tablet).
9. Will there be a SUSS Backpack version for Blackberry or Windows 8?
For the moment we are focusing on iOS and Android devices. It is not in our immediate plans to support other devices unless the adoption rate for those devices increases.
